Rwanda features among the fifteen countries with which the Netherlands maintained a long-term bilateral aid relationship. One of the key sectors to which the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) has contributed in Rwanda is the Justice, Reconciliation, Law and Order (JRLO) sector. Besides Sector Budget Support to the Government of Rwanda, EKN supported numerous non-governmental initiatives in the area of Access to Justice and Reconciliation. The Community Based Sociotherapy Program has been supported by EKN since 2013 and the activities of Community Based Sociotherapy Rwanda as organization received support since January 2017. At the moment EKN is supporting the three-year “Mvura Nkuvure project”, and their contribution plays a crucial role in providing psychosocial services and peacebuilding opportunities to more than 12,000 people in Rwanda, including genocide survivors, genocide perpetrators and their descendants.
